New arrival in summer
After Turkish Airlines gains complete control over the national carrier of Bosnia and Herzegovina a second Airbus A319 is set to join the fleet, sources close to the airline state. The Airbus is expected to join the carrier sometime during the peak summer season and serve on charter flights. Turkish also plans for B&H to open several other Western European destinations later in the year, although none are currently planned for the start of the 2011 summer season which begins on March 27. The new arrival won’t impact on the current fleet of 2 ATR72s and 1 Airbus A319 which will remain with the airline. Original plans, drafted 2 years ago, intended for B&H to have three A319s by the summer of 2011.

Turkish Airlines is willing to acquire 100% of B&H’s shares as soon as possible, although internal politics inside the Federation are slowing the process down. In 2010, B&H Airlines handled almost 139.000 passengers, an increase of almost 57% compared to 2009. The airline recently launched a discounted ticket sale in hope of luring passengers to its flights until the start of the summer season.

NEW PLANE WONT BE A-319 BECAUSE BH AIRLINES IS DOING ALL SUMMER LONG CHARTERS FOR FIBULA TRAVEL EGENCY TO ANTALYA AND THEY NEED BOEING 737- 300 OR 800.BH AIRLINES WILL TAKE BOEING IF IT WONTS TO DO CHARTERS.

Why would it need to be a Boeing 737 to do charters? Since the 737-400 has been returned to THY it would have to be another 319.

Just a second though here, how much charter work does B&H Airlines really deal with?

FIBULA TRAVEL AGENCY DEMANDS PLANE WITH AT LEAST 160 SEATS. FOR FIBULA BH AIRLINES FLIES 3 TIMES PER WEEK FROM SARAJEVO TO ANTALYA AND BACKK DURING 4 MONTHS. FOR BH AIRLINES THATS THE BEST JOB THEY DO DURING WHOLE YEAR...

wow seems very demanding 4 times per week on one route for some charter group I've never heard of! I think an A319 will be just adequate for such operations.

But plans may change because BH Airline last summer on every flight made delays...that could be problem for them for this season to take that job

How could B&H make such a profit of 3 to 4 weekly flights operated by a leased aircraft and operating for a tourist/holiday company? Wouldn't alot of the revenue earned off the flight go to the travel company too.

The only charter service B&H Airlines serve is Antalya currently (2011 summer) correct?

BH Airlines refers to Balkan Holiday Airlines, B&H Airlines is Bosnia and Hercegovina Airlines!

Well apart from the charter services mentioned above, from the start of Summer Season, the will need another Jet-engine..

ZRH is planned daily with a 319 as well as an increase tfor Amsterdam is forseen..
This would require more than one 319 so I'm really curious about how this develops..

Especially when you say that the 319 won't arrive until peak-summer..

    Pozz,
    Bo

BE SURE THAT B&H Airlines wont fly to France in the next few years. Charter flight for Antalya as I said are most profitable flights B&H Airlines ever could get and for them that is ana extreme profit. Of course that could not be said for Turkish or some other biger airline. Also the plane will come until june but it will also be given by Turkish Airlines an d taken back again after the end of season. Same thing was done with Boeing 737-400 last summer.
Bosnian government is tending to loan money to B&H Airlines and avoid Turkish Airline to take over the company until summer politics...

These orders would obviously be replaced by the current leased THY aircraft.

In my opinon 2 A319's and 2 AT7's are enough for B&H to operate their small network.
