NEWS FLASH

ČSA Czech Airlines has upgraded its service between Prague and Skopje to year-round operations and will therefore continue to maintain flights on the route throughout the winter. The service was initially planned to operate on a seasonal summer basis until October 30. The Czech carrier will run flights twice per week, each Thursday and Sunday evenings from Prague and on Monday and Friday mornings from Skopje. Services will operate with a mix of Boeing 737 and Airbus A319 aircraft. ČSA resumed operations to the Macedonian capital this May following a four year hiatus.

Zagreb was originally planned as a year-round route. The airline is now evaluating its performance on the route and ticket sales for winter are expected to begin in late August/early September.

These are the (new) routes that will be upgraded at SKP this winter (so far):

    Hannover (W6): +2 (0)
    Berlin (W6) : +2 (0)
    Zurich (LX) : +3 (3)
    Prague (OK) : +2 (0)

So this winter, SKP will have 9 more frequencies compared to last winter. That is, 18 flights per week (arriving and departing). Not enough for 20% growth, but nevertheless, the growth will continue in the winter as well (my prediction is between 7-10%).
