NEWS FLASH

The inaugural service between Belgrade and New York has been named the most tracked flight during the month of June by the popular Swedish-based website Flightradar24, which displays real-time aircraft movements. The inaugural JU500 service, which reinstated the flight number after 24 years, was launched on June 23. It joined the list of the most tracked flights during 2016 which included the inaugural service of the Boeing 737 MAX, the resumption of Solar Impulse's round-the-world journey and the Airbus A350-1000's first flight. The most tracked flight of the year was Pope Francis’ return to Rome from Krakow, with over 530.000 live views. The resumption of flights between Belgrade and New York generated significant interest across the board. Its coverage on EX-YU Aviation News on June 23 was the site's most read article of all time. Recently, the Serbian carrier said over 40.000 people flew on its service between the two cities since its launch.
