Sarajevo Airport records January growth

Sarajevo Airport handled 43.377 passengers in January, representing an increase of 5.3% compared to the same month last year. The number of aircraft movements stood at 716, up 7.2%. Furthermore, the airport processed 136.789 kilograms of cargo during the month. Sarajevo Airport has previously said it expects for 2017 to be a turning point in its operations, with plans to handle one million passengers, overhaul its runway and expand its terminal building. Talks are underway with several carriers over the introduction of new flights to the city. So far, TUIfly Belgium (Charleroi) and Wizz Air (Budapest) have announced new services to the Bosnian capital this year.
