Montenegro Airlines will be making changes to its summer network which begins today, with the airline to maintain operations with fewer aircraft than last year. Last November, the carrier returned its only 112-seat Embraer E190 jet to its owner. Montenegro Airlines will primarily reduce operations out of Tivat. The airline will harmonise its frequencies between Tivat and Belgrade in line with its new codeshare partner Air Serbia. Both carriers plan to run three daily flights between the two cities. Furthermore, the airline will halve its frequencies to St. Petersburg from four to two per week. The reduction will coincide with the introduction of a new three weekly service between the two cities operated by Aeroflot subsidiary Nordavia. Montenegro Airlines will also reduce flights to London Gatwick by one weekly service, returning to its 2015 schedule, following an increase last year. The airline competes against easyJet on the route.
The Montenegrin carrier will maintain the same number of departures from its hub in Podgorica this year. The carrier will reduce one of its weekly flights to Copenhagen but will substitute the reduction with an additional weekly service to Paris, which continues to perform strongly for the airline and its codeshare partner Air France. Apart from its scheduled operations, Montenegro Airlines will also run charters to Bari, Brindisi, Naples and Ancona in Italy. Furthermore, the carrier will introduce new charter flights to the Finnish capital Helsinki. Despite plans to run a one weekly charter service to Tehran, the airline has recently removed the city from its destination network and it is uncertain whether the flights will be operated.

Furthermore, the table below displays the peak weekly frequency on each route during the course of the summer season. Increases in frequencies, particularly on flights from Tivat to Belgrade and Moscow, do not come into effect until later on in the summer. Have Montenegro Airlines and Air Serbia worked out the timing of their flights? Now that both will be flying the same frequencies, will they spread out the departures or do all of their flights still leave within five minutes of each other?

Competition is hurting them. They are reducing LED and LGW where they have to compete against big platers.

DeleteI think there is too much capacity in OTP, flydubai has recently increased its own flights plus don't forget that W6 flies to Dubai so QR can't rely on some transfer passengers going there.

DeleteI can only tell you from what I saw when I was working on the day when they were flying. It's usually around 70 to 110 passengers on average.

Deleteps in my experience, whenever i flew VIE -SKP and SKP - VIE, again, the LF was always very good (last time Jan 7th: i didn't actually count passengers but there was this announcement from the flight crew to put hand luggage under the seats because the flight is fully booked).
So, i guess you need to second guess your comment too about numbers declining on OS flights because of W6. But i wont call your comment worthless, since im not the almighty comment guru who gets to decide whos comment is worthy and whos isnt.

DeleteWith ASL reducing its flights to TIV by 9 and MGX by 4, it's almost 2 flights less per day - this is a huge cut. Hopefully they won't increase the prices drastically and it would be great to have the A330 flying to TIV on certain days

ReplyDeleteOT: Adria will add 3 weekly flights to Podgorica from 2. 5. and from 1. 7. additional one on Saturday. So, from the beginning of July till the end of summer timetable they will fly to Podgorica every day. From 8. 4. 2017 they will add Saturday flight to Sarajevo, so they will have everyday flights also to Sarajevo.
