NEWS FLASH

Lufthansa operated its first flight between Frankfurt and Pula last Friday. The seasonal service will be maintained twice per week, each Monday and Friday, with a Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft until October 20. Pula Airport's General Manager, Svemir Radmilo, said, "This service will allow us to reach new markets such as the United States and Canada, as well as China, Korea and Singapore in the Far East. All of these destinations are now more accessible then they were a week ago". The Mayor of Pula, Boris Miletić, added, "I am delighted that the number of carriers serving Pula is constantly increasing. It shows that there is demand for Pula and the Istria region. The new service between Pula and Frankfurt means a direct connection with the rest of the world. It will contribute to the continued development of tourism, which will improve the quality of our offer, as well as tourist arrivals and overnights, giving an additional spur to the Croatian economy". Besides Lufthansa, a number of airlines will launch new seasonal services to Pula this summer including British Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, easyJet, Eurowings, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Transavia, Jet2, Red Wings Airlines and Thomson Airways.

If you read one more time, the schedule is made so that they WILL operate CRJ. This Embraer was probably a one-off upgrade to carry the officials and co. :)
