NEWS FLASH

Sarajevo Airport registered its busiest day on record last Friday, August 18, by handling just over 6.000 passengers through its doors within 24 hours. It outperformed the airport's previous record which was set just a week earlier, when 5.981 travellers were welcomed on August 11. During the January - July period, the airport handled 524.008 passengers, up 12.3% on last year. "Despite strong competition, we are constantly working on attracting new airlines and we strive to adapt to their individual and specific needs. As a result, within the first seven months of the year, five new airlines commenced operations to Sarajevo (Wizz Air, TUIfly, Atalsglobal, Nesma Airlines and Wataniya Airways). We expect continued growth in the number of flights and passengers in the coming period", Sarajevo Airport said in a recent statement.
