Sarajevo Airport sees busiest month

Sarajevo Airport has registered its busiest month on record this August by handling 144.330 passengers, an increase of 22% compared to last year. The number of aircraft movements grew 20.4% to 1.508. During the January - August period, the airport welcomed 668.338 travellers through its doors, up 14.1%. On August 18, Sarajevo registered its busiest day on record, with over 6.000 passengers handled within the 24-hour period. Five new airlines commenced operations to Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital so far this year, including Wizz Air, TUIfly, Atalsglobal, Nesma Airlines and Wataniya Airways, with Qatar Airways to follow next month.
