NEWS FLASH

Skopje Alexander the Great has registered its busiest August on record by handling 219.518 passengers, an increase of 25.5% compared to the same month last year. The growth was fuelled by the boom in traffic resulting from the UEFA Super Cup Final, as well as the recent launch of new routes by Wizz Air and Qatar Airways. During the January - August period, Skopje Airport welcomed 1.223.6302 travellers through its doors, representing an increase of 10.6% on 2016.

I still do not get it- did not anyone see the potential of this market before Wizz? I mean Wizz is not even cheap in Macedonia, now subsidies long gone prices to routes like London and Brussels are more expensive! Cheaper ie. to fly Zagreb- Brussels Zaventem on SN (cca 80 eur) than SKP- Brussels Charleroi on W6.. strange.

Amazing! Only 70k difference between SKP and PRN which may lead to ranking SKP ahead of PRN.
Slowly someone can think of a kind of a national (domestic) airline. I don't say it's a must but these passenger flows are encouraging.
Ohrid has stolen some pax away from SKP this summer, as the offer from there got better, especially from Switzerland which is a key market for Macedonia.
