Montenegro Airlines to launch Germany charters

NEWS FLASH

Montenegro Airlines has reached a deal with Germany's FTI Group to launch regular charter flights from Podgorica and Tivat next year. During the 2018 summer season, from April until October, the Montenegrin carrier will run two weekly charters from Podgorica to Munich, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Leipzing, as well as from Tivat to Munich and Leipzig. This is in addition to the airline's scheduled services to Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. The Managing Director for Tour Packages at FTI, Sven Schikarsky, said, "We are pleased to offer additional direct connections to Montenegro. These new flights will eliminate the time-consuming transfer from Dubrovnik. The fact that Montenegro uses the euro as its local currency makes the travel experience even more seamless". Montenegro Airlines plans to add larger aircraft to its fleet and expand its route network next year as it continues to restructure.

Finally a service from the Eastern parts of Germany to Exyu (by the way, most of Berlin used to be part of Western Germany, so TXL/BER doesn't count in this regard).
Notably, Sunexpress was the only carrier with brief services to SPU and DBV (this year only 4 scheduled flights in October LEJ-SPU-LEJ).

I also find it very interesting, that the two MNE Airports will be connected to that large part of Germany, whereas whole Croatia and Serbia will continue to not to have any direct air links. Montenegro Adriatic coast seems to beat Croatia Adriatic coastal destinations (as it is cheaper?).
OU had previously operated charters to LEJ, DRS and ERF but sadly cancelled all these services the latest by summer 2016.
