NEWS FLASH

Turkey's AtlasGlobal has begun codesharing on Air Serbia's flights between Belgrade and New York after being granted regulatory approval. The Turkish carrier has placed its "KK" designator code and flight numbers onto Air Serbia's three weekly service to and from New York. AtlasGlobal commenced flights to Belgrade earlier this year, which are codeshared by Air Serbia, after the latter suspended the route. The Serbian carrier also plans to codeshare on AtlasGlobal’s international flights to markets such as Russia, Moldova and Kuwait in the Middle East, as well as domestic flights to additional points in Turkey, all via Istanbul. The two carriers are also exploring opportunities to provide passengers frequent flier benefits, including the ability to accrue miles on codeshare flights, and reciprocal premium lounge access at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport and Istanbul Ataturk Airport for eligible travellers.

Good to hear, but I wonder who will fly from Turkey to NY with a stopover when they can fly directly with Turkish?

The same ones transferring onto other airlines. Do you think all other carriers carry only O&D?

Трансфер путници су такође O&D али за почетне и крајње аеродроме.

That's irrelevant. The fact is, every time there's a stupid reaction 'who's gonna fly if there's direct'. Well, i hardly doubt LH is carrying only pax to FRA/MUC from Istanbul.

Going out on a limb here but I imagine that 90% of the time, it's cheaper to fly direct from IST.

I wonder if KK would dare to launch ESB-BEG at least in summer season and connect this flight with JU500 as well. Ankara alone is a large market and there could be enough tourists + connecting passengers to JFK for 3 weekly flights or so.

TK is always by far the most expensive from JFK and YYZ. They need the inventory for their cash cow markets. Please do not post false info.
