Ljubljana Airport maintains strong growth

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport has posted its thirteenth consecutive month of passenger growth by handling 153.641 travellers in October, an increase of 16.3% on 2016. The number of aircraft movements stood at 3.321, up 19.2%, while 1.449 tonnes of cargo and mail were processed during the month, a jump of 55.6%. Over the past ten months, Ljubljana welcomed 1.451.518 passengers through its doors, an increase of 19.9%. Aircraft movements increased 19.6% to 29.330 during the same period. Jože Pučnik Airport is now on course to surpass its record 2008 figures when it handled 1.673.050 passengers.

    So, LJU is just ahead of PRN in terms of passengers for October 2017 since the latter handled ~150,000 (a very mild growth).

    Wow, great! So they need an average of ~110k in Nov, Dec to meet the record. Is it possible based on the average for these two months (+avg. growth)?

      Admin is correct it is 1.673.050 according to LJU airport.

      I assume LJU knows its own numbers better than Eurostat. You can check on their website.

    That's great news!

    It's interesting how some were commenting that these increases are not really impressive as 2016's numbers were really poor. I just looked at the data a couple of days ago and in 2016, passenger numbers fell by only about 3%. If you compare these numbers to 2015, the growth is still about 15%, not bad at all.
