Wow! First time they are going head to head with Wizz Air. I wonder if they will operate it with the GVA plane?

what about the GVA service? I don't understand why they will terminate a service that they have no competition and introduce one that they will have direct competition.

So instead of GVA in the far west, they are going for a north-central gateway to Serbia in hope of attracting the massive ZRH-centric traffic, Saint Gallen and neighbouring cantons. In theory it makes sense as the catchment is bigger. In practice, against W6... will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

      Frequency
In June and July easyJet places two additional Airbus A320s at the airport to fly new routes and to serve other flights more often. The routes, mainly flown by business travelers, between Basel, Barcelona, Hamburg and Manchester are being increased.

      Destinations
New destinations that are flown from Basel are Athens, Belgrade, Vienna, Lamezia, Menorca and Pula. This brings the number of destinations on which easyJet flies from Basel to 63.

      Aircraft
With the additional aircraft, the number of easyJet aircraft at the airport in the three countries of France, Germany and Switzerland increases to eleven. Of the aircraft there are four Airbus A319s and seven A320s.

      Basel
EasyJet is the largest airline at the airport in Basel. With some 4.8 million passengers a year, easyJet has a market share of 60 percent at the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg.
