Search for Croatia Airlines' new CEO begins

NEWS FLASH

Croatia's Centre for Enterprise Restructuring and Privatisation (CERP) has begun tendering procedures to select Croatia Airlines' new CEO, the second such open call in the past six months. The previous attempt was declared void after the Croatian government named Jasmin Bajić as the carrier's new head in November for a six-month period. The terms and conditions of the new open call have been slightly modified compared to the previous one as interested applicants are no longer required to have a background in the aviation industry. The new CEO will be selected for a five-year term. Croatia Airlines' former CEO, Krešimir Kučko, stepped down last month to take up a position as the head of Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air. His initial five-year mandate was extended by the government on two occasions, each time by six months.

If Bajic became CEO in November for six months that means they have until May to find a new one. But the government has extended terms so many times, I would not be surprised if they extend his term too.

It's quite interesting that OU and JU will lose their CEO's with a small time difference.
