NEWS FLASH

Bosnia and Herzegovina's former flag carrier B&H Airlines has launched tender procedures for the sale of its remaining assets. These include a CASA C-212 Aviocar cargo aircraft, spare parts for ATR turboprops, airport trolleys, aircraft steps, computers, television sets and furniture. Those interested have until September 25 to place their bids. B&H Airlines operated its last flight in 2015 after its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) was revoked by authorities due to amassed debts.

In best Bosnian financial manner the next step for BH Airlines should be to sell all assets to the same old BH Airlines and to by one new Aircraft ATR72 for tourist charter service to pay less tax and to reopen the same company.

How do you expect that an airline can maintain itself when our public city transport can't? I mean take a look at the trams in Sarajevo. Every now and then it gets broken or slides off the rails. People don't have enough money for a public transport ticket and you expect someone to buy an airline ticket? I mean sadly, aviation has been my whole life here, still fighting for it in my own way. I've been here and there in B&H Airlines and B&H aviation but we have to look at the matter seriously. We have more than 20% of people that can't write and read in the country, elections here and the government are ridiculous, we don't have normal salaries for people to buy the airline tickets enough for the airline to maintain itself, not to mention to maintain growth, and we don't have the professional people to lead the airline. B&H Airlines was my future to be and I was hoping that it can get out of this crisis in some way but sadly this is the truth. Bosnia and Herzegovina can once again establish and airline only when it's people are ready to lead, maintain and support the airline. Until then it's all wishes and dreams sadly...

People dont have money for a public transport ticket? I am sorry but that is rubbish. Look at the people in Sarajevo and the way they dress, the phones they have, the amount of coffee and booze they drink. They have the money, they just dont want to pay the ticket. Its a mentality issue, not a money issue. (I am not sure which one is worse though, not to have money, or to have such a bad mentality)

+1. They complain they have no money, yet they are drinking, smoking, driving posh German cars and wearing designer clothes. I wish I could afford such things in England!
