NEWS FLASH

Skopje Airport has continued to post notable passenger growth by handling 208.077 travellers in September, representing an increase of 11.6% on the same month last year. During the first three quarters, Macedonia's busiest airport welcomed 1.660.439 passengers, up 17.8%. It has added just over 250.000 travellers compared to 2017. The General Manager of airport operator TAV Macedonia, Alper Ersoy, recently said, "We have completed another busy summer at both Skopje and Ohrid airports and we are now ready for the winter season which will begin in late October with a new winter schedule. Summing up the months behind us, it is important to point out that, after successfully concluding discussions and negotiations, LOT Polish Airlines entered the Macedonian market by launching six weekly flights between Warsaw and Skopje. We expect to continue with double-digit passenger growth until the end of the year, which is above the official European average of 4%",

Hmmm lets see how November performs with all those cuts.
The percentages are quite extreme from 27.9% to 8%
    Then from 25% to 16%.

    Wizz Air market share: 60.3%
    Turkish: 7.8%
    Austrian: 6%

So basically the entire SKP airport is in the hands of 3 carriers, 2 of which are Star Alliance.
But yeah, SKP is the LCC heavenly destination.

75% of the entire traffic by 3 airlines for a 2 million pax airport. That's crazy and shows no competition at all. No wonder why it's still very expensive to reach Skopje from overseas, especially US, Canada and Latin America.

The only reason why August is below 10% is because of the Super cup last year, otherwise it would it be 13%+ at least.
I'm happy for SKP, lets see what the new round of subsidies will give us. It was yesterday in the news that only one airline applied, I'm assuming its W6.
