EBRD approves VINCI's Belgrade Airport loan

NEWS FLASH

VINCI Airports Serbia has been granted a loan of up to 100 million euros from the European Bank For Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in order for it to close the financial construction of the 25-year concession of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The concession and construction company has already received loan approval from other financial institutions, including the International Finance Corporation, France's PROPARCO and the German Investment Corporation. The concession agreement between VINCI and the Serbian government is worth over a billion euros. The French company will provide an up-front payment of 501 million euros to the state, a further annual tax payment of between five and sixteen million euros and has obligated itself to invest 732 million euros into the airport.

    2. Considering that TAV is not involved and that the concession has been more professionally handled overall by the Serbian government so far, I doubt it.

    1. Very short actually. It took over a year from when Croatia signed the concession with the French for Zagreb Airport for them to close the financial construction. It's been less than 8 months since Vinci signed the concession agreement.

Very interesting. Shame we do not have access to the agreement. There must be a catch as currently it does not make any business sense (based on what was published).
