Croatia Airlines holds talks with Podgorica

Croatia Airlines' CEO Jasmin Bajić recently held talks with the CEO of operator Airports of Montenegro, Danilo Orlandić. The two discussed the potential for Croatia Airlines to resume flights between Zagreb and Podgorica which were discontinued in February 2012, during the carrier's restructuring process. The Croatian national airline maintained three weekly flights between the two cities. At the time, the Montenegrin capital was the only in the former Yugoslavia to be linked with each EX-YU capital. Podgorica Airport anticipates another record year in 2019 and has secured new flights from Stuttgart by Laudamotion and Bologna by Ryanair, while Montenegro Airlines will boost frequencies on some routes.

    OU is probably fishing for subventions. They can't compete with JU and OS in Montenegro.

    Good to hear this. OU should start TGD, TIA and PRN. They have to become more competitive for transfers in the region as there is a lot of potential

      Transfers to where exactly? None of their European flights have enough frequencies to be competitive. As for FRA and MUC, there are already a lot of non-stop options starting with JP.

      They have 12 aircraft/ 14 during summer. They flew with them thanks to the coast and the fact that they have a domestic network and people transferring through Zagreb to DBV, SPU, PUY...

    TGD is long overdue and with the recent increase of HR tourists in MK a two weekly seasonal DH8 to OHD doesnt sound like science fiction anymore neither

    Why not? This route makes a natural progression of things. OU is the most successful airline in SKP, it can also be in Kosova and Montenegro.

    Anon 16:57, check your sources and you'll find out how many domestic passengers flew with Croatia airlines, and how many foreign citizens. That is - your theory is not correct.
