NEWS FLASH

Fraport Slovenia will have to delay the construction of Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport's new multi million euro terminal by several months. According to the "Uporabna Stran" portal, construction will be pushed back by some three months after the operator annulled a tender for the selection of contractors due to new rules enforced by the National Review Commission for Reviewing Public Procurement Award Procedures. Fraport is now aiming to open the new facility during the summer of 2021, instead of spring, as initially planned, but has not ruled out an autumn opening either. The airport operator hopes to have the project completed by the time Slovenia takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the second half of 2021.

As a Slovene, I can only say "šalabajzeri". A terminal of such importance, yet so little effort.

3 months, mate. That's really not a big deal. LJU will get its terminal, you'll see.

Hope your words come true. Because 3 months in Slovenia usually mean much, much more. Take an example of Emonika (railway and bus station in Ljubljana, along with bussiness centre), second rail to Koper (drugi tir), and so on ... I am still optimistic, just hate the pace in our country ...

Fraport obviously knows secrets about Adria.

Adria will survive not worry

So what, even if Adria bankrupts other carriers will take its place, not to mention arrival of new carriers. After all it's Fraport's job to run the airport and expand it by bringing new routes and airlines.

If they haven't annulled the tender, they would get complaints from unselected companies. These complaints would be possible according to new law that was made after a debucle with Karavnke tunnel tender couple of months ago. So, in order to avoid this, they will repeat the tender and face only 3 months delay. In case of complaints, delay would be at least 6 months, if not more. So, they chose best of both two bad options.

Slovenia and its infrastructure, what a disaster. The Slo Tourist Board conducted recently a survey amoung tourists about Slovenia. Feedback was small, magical, hidddn gem vs unnoticed, uninteresting and untouristy. There is not mich to add, just that the feedbacks are reallity!
