Croatia anticipates Baku flights

NEWS FLASH

The Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Marija Pejčinović Burić, has said that seasonal flights between Zagreb and Azerbaijan's capital Baku will likely commence next year. Ms Pejčinović Burić noted, "We expect a continuous rise in the number of Azerbaijani tourists and business people visiting Croatia, and vice versa. Therefore, I believe that next year seasonal direct flights from Baku to Zagreb and other destinations such as Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar or Pula are feasible". In 2012, Azerbaijan's national carrier AZAL operated charter flights to Split, once every ten days over the summer. Within the former Yugoslavia, the airline maintains seasonal flights to Tivat.

What I don't get is if the government negotiated this, why didn't they offer for our own carrier to fly the route?! Or they didn't care?

Why not TBS? Prettier, friendlier and more open-minded.

You forgot to add "poorer" too.
As much as I would like direct flight to TBS, I don't think they are going to happen any time soon.
As for direct flight GYB - ZAG I don't see that is going to happen next year.

  8. Azal operates twice weekly Baku to JFK on 777. If their loads are not satisfactory on nonstop, maybe they can do it via ZAG. Or DBV?

I think that's what they are after. The government said flights to JFK are coming soon.

    2. Odakle ti informacija o 777? Ono što ja vidim na Wikipedii Azal ima A340, B767 te B787

    3. Sorry, my bad. Lete JFK sa Dreamlinerom, moja greska, nenamjerno :)

BY također leti tamo i sigurno nešto ulovi.
