Ljubljana Airport sees record June

NEWS FLASH

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport has registerd its busiest June, despite operational issues which have plagued its busiest airline, Adria Airways, during the month. Ljubljana Airport welcomed 188.622 travellers through its doors, representing an increase of 6.7%. The number of aircraft movements improved 3.3% to 3.372. During the first half of the year, Slovenia’s busiest airport handled 859.557 passengers, up 3.4%, while aircraft movements stood at 16.679, down 1.6%. Foreign carriers continue to be the driving force behind Ljubljana Airport’s record performance during the first six months of the year. Next week, British Airways will launch seasonal flights from London Heathrow to the Slovenian capital.

  1. Surprisingly good June for LJU, giving the fact that Adria is a mess...

The numbers show, it is not such a mess after all and comments on JP here are exaggerated and downright malicious.

Exaggerated? They have more cancellations and delays than Ryanair, Wizz Air and Easyjet together with 20 times smaller fleet.

Does anyone do any fact checking before writing nonsense any more? Just this wednesday easyjet cancelled 74 flights, which is more than Adria cancelled in the entire month.

Easy has 328 aircraft and JP operating 9. So if Easy cancels 74 and JP 5 a day, the Proportion is not in favor of JP.

still a nice result of LJU. Hopefully with AF increasing schedule as of 16JUL and BA starting to fly to LJU, we might could see in JUL or AUG first time 200'000 passengers in one month in LJU

LJU was smart to distance itself from JP. I guess it also helps that SU launched flights as there for sure more passengers to SVO now than before.

Then July should not be a problem as well with positive growth despite daily cancelations by JP.

Exactly, one Adria B777-300 cancellation leaves 600 passengers stranded.with 100% LF and all 773 in fleet it is really astonishing LJU grew at all....

Last year, Adria had more cancellations, but for some reason, the media picked-up on it only this year. I guess a few journalists had a bad experience with them recently..
