As a frequent flyer i‘ve always flown from PRN. This year i made an exception and flew from Skopje. The prices on flights from and to PRN are just insane. Cashcow for the Lufthansa group.

Not much of a surprise considering the size of Kosovar diaspora. I expect August to be similarly crazy.

i must always fly home to Kosovo via Bratislava - Skopje.

Austrian charges 600 euros from Vienna to PRN. Newly launched Eurowings charges 800 euros. *cringes*

i paid 400 for 4 tickets with Wizz. plus 100euros for return taxi drive from Skp airport to Prishtina. im happy there is Skopje airport and Wizz!

      Good for you.

Next time you can save even more by taking a bus instead of taxi to Prishtina. It costs 5 Euros per passenger.

Similar situation with Sarajevo. Austrian charges some 400 euro for Vienna - Sarajevo. Austrian just knows they can charge that much, because how else is the large Austrian BiH diaspora going to get there?

I live in New York, and go to hometown in Hercegovina often. My next upcoming trip I'm flying either to Dubrovnik, or to Podgorica (30-40 euro on some routes to London, Bologna or Barcelona) and then taxi probably (maybe bus) to Mostar. My total from New York to Mostar would be less than just Vienna-Sarajevo, if you can believe that.

      Dear,

The new Prishtina Vienna service with Eurowings is chartered from Flyksa.com and Airprishtina.com so most of seat capacity will be purchased from their website and of course you will find more competitive prices :D

This is all very interesting considering that on Thursday I am flying business class from LHR to PRN via VIE on OS and the return ticket cost in the region of 500 Euros. I purchased the ticket 10 days or so in advance of travel date.

Now, I don't know about the cost of VIE-PRN only, but it seems unusual to have business class for 4 legs cheaper than economy class (I assume based on Wizz Air comparison) for 2 legs only.

There's also connecting flights with Adria via LJU, but then Adria has been unreliable so understandable if people avoid.

However, I simply must make clear to the person who raised the issue of Eurowings flights from VIE to PRN. It is simply untrue that the cost of their tickets will be 800 Euros. These flights have not been loaded to the system and it's impossible to know their cost. I see that airprishtina.com (my preferred local agent) has loaded Wien (VIE) in their destination list but still no flight details or costs. Based on BSL and GVA launches I assume VIE-PRN return will cost from 99.99 EUR - 129.99 EUR return as a minimum with other booking classes costing more. Wait until these flights are launched and then make a judgement.

Agree. Fly often Eurowings RJK to STR, DUS, HAJ, TXL and the prices are usually between 50 and 150 euro one way, even if bought only few days in advance and even now in peak season. So really don't know where this 800 came from, it is really too too too much

Well, Macedonian airports (both SKP and OHR) recorded 295.669 passengers in July (up 8% on last year). So, Macedonian airports as a whole had more passengers than PRN.

But, so what? Good on SKP and OHR. That does in no way diminish PRN results, particularly considering that Schengen visas have still not been waived for Kosovan citizens.

If SKP enables more Kosovars to visit their families then I'm all for it. They will stay closer to their families, community, and hopefully bring home much needed cash to the economy. SKP gets more passengers, so it's all win-win. Here's to more win-win scenarios all over South-East Europe!

My sincere apologies. In Albanian the city is known as Ohër and inadvertently I (twice) type OHR without giving it much thought. The correct IATA code for Ohrid airport is OHD, of course.
