NEWS FLASH

Irish company Avgen Global has placed a bid for Adria Airways, EX-YU Aviation News learns. The consultancy group is one of several vying to buy the defunct airline’s assets. Adria Airways' receiver, Janez Pustatičnik, will today open bids for the purchase of the entire former flag carrier or its parts. Bidders will be informed of the outcome within fifteen days. Some of Adria’s assets include the brand, land property rights and the head office building, aircraft parts, select permits and two apartments. The airline had no aircraft in its ownership and leased its entire fleet. It is believed the government or the potential strategic partner the state has been in talks with could bid for the bankrupt airline in an attempt to resurrect the national carrier. It has emerged that Adria in bankruptcy is attempting to keep its slots at Amsterdam Airport.

Charters! Because everywhere in the world, the most profitable, successful and long-standing airlines are charter ones.

Everybody knows the most profit is in charters.

Not inspiring at all (Company address and location also). Experts? Little positive information available.
Hoping no Slovenian taxpayers money will be paid to them to work as a "cover" with Slovneian taxpayers Money. Adria 2.o reloaded sigh!

Some people here really have no clue.

This has nothing to do with Adria 2.0, but rather with selling Adria's assets, so debts (e.g. outstanding salaries to employees) can be paid off.

And no other company in Europe (other than Adria 2.0) would be interested in buying a ready-to-go EASA AOC?

After all profitable routes are already taken by Lufthansa Group new national airline would be disaster. Even Tajnikar (who stand behind Adria in everything) said that.

Do not mix this with intention of the government to establish Air Slovenia. This has nothing to do with it.
A bit more quite interesting news form this afternoon:
    1. Slovenian businessman Joc Pečečnik, together with a partner from abroad and former Adria CEO Mark Anžur, would set up a new Adria. They are interested in buying Adria as a whole: AOC, membership in the IATA and slots. They also want to keep the name Adria Airways. "We are in talks with a foreign partner that is familiar with this business," Pečečnik confirmed the information to Finance newspaper.
    2. Slovenian company Pipistrel has submitted an offer to purchase Adria Airways Flight School as a whole, including all properties, brand and certification of the school. They want to continue pilot training in Brnik and Maribor, Pipistrel director Ivo Boscarol told the Slovenian Press Agency.

Yes, it is crystal clear that this information has noting to do with whatsoever intention of the government is. And Air Slovenia or something else is still an option, it's even clearer than before as it was also reported yesterday on national television in such details that they got also an information about first planned routs.
And as you can read above, it's not for the same, one unit is Adria Airways and the other one is Adria Airways Flight School, two units also with two separate processes and two different liquidators.

When I read blogs and peoples' comments I feel touched by their emotions about the national carrier and that tells me how much they love their national carrier. We must all have deep intentions for the best for our country and we must all mitigate and raise alarm at what others have done before that is wrong, and what others plan to do now that is right or wrong! The most important assets of this airline are the workers whose interest must be paramount. Any future buyer must seek to protect everyone of them. The new owners must show leadership in the market and make the airline successful. Anyone or groups who breaks the airline up have no interest in the success of the national carrier, its workers or the nation. We must all love our nation enough to build a great market leader. Adria Airways will rise up again like the golden phoenix!...

Having carried out due diligence on Avgen Global Consultants Limited, I found out interesting info about the company. It is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of a major airline financing company in the UK and Ireland that is coming to the market to finance new airline start-ups and existing airline companies in the Balkans and eastern European region region especially. We hope that they create more job opportunities and bring more tourists to improve the tourism market. The youth can begin their own airline start-ups too.

It's quite interesting to read, knowing that 600 employees have not been paid a considerable amount of their employee benefits including months salaries! I am surprised that the government does not do everything within their ability to prosecute management and that they let them get away with these practices. Where is K4 invest, where is Holger Kowarsch, these are the ones that should be asked upon their responsibilities! Nothing is done, unfortunately............
