NEWS FLASH

Air France will be introducing a second daily flight between Paris and Zagreb this coming summer season. As a result, the French carrier will maintain a morning and evening departure out of Charles de Gaulle Airport to the Croatian capital. The second daily rotation will come into effect from May. Croatia Airlines continues to operate one daily service from Zagreb to Paris. The two codeshare on each others' flights. Air France recently said it sees further growth opportunities in the region and few challenges on the market in the coming period.

Basically AF will spend the night in ZAG flying back then next morning at 06.50 and arriving at 08.55.

Not only will this be fantastic for business passengers but also for transfers to North America. Finally a great connection to the US and Canada via Paris. Let's see how Mutti responds, maybe another daily from MUC or FRA? AF sensed that OS reduced ZAG so they reacted.

But CDG is annoying for transfer, at least my experience for long-haul. Had to wait around one hour for passport control and then needed 20min by aiport tram/bus to get to the other gate and almost missed connecting flight. But it was couple years ago.

There is no passport control when flying non-Schengen to non-Schengen (such as ZAG-US or ZAG-Canada).

True. And even if it changes this or next year and Croatia joins Schengen, at all bigger airports, including CDG, EU citizens can use automated passport control, which is usually completed in few minutes

AF is cheap on the route, they are selling one way fares for as little as €70! I think they are trying to push OU out. That would be crazy as there would be a monopoly then.

Great! AF double daily and BA going there. In the long term BA could also go up to 3 daily.

Is it? Might be helpful for their Sarajevo and Skopje routes. And the one to Podgorica if thry start flying it.

From what I've seen the flight arrives to ZAG at 23.00 so it's too late, no connections can be made.

They are code-share on AF-OU flights. So how is that bad news for OU?

So what if they have a code-share? AF and JP also used to code-share.
This is bad news because now AF will not only offer a much superior product on the route but will also give more flexibility to the passengers. Why should someone fly on OU when AF offers so much more? It will also be bad news because now connections to the US and Canada will be even more available meaning less people will fly via Star Alliance hubs!

Are you really that naive to believe AF is looking to cooperate with OU in stead of driving them out and creating a monopoly for itself?

A much superior product? Are you kidding me... why exactly is a flight on AF ZAG-CDG superior compared to the same flight on OU, some people here are really delusional.

Oh man you serious? ... stylish and chique, uniforms? I have never heard of anyone deciding between two airlines on the same route and thinking, hmmm what kind of uniforms do the staff wear?

Price, connectivity, timing those are the main criteria for passengers from the Balkans.

And what happens when all options from the Balkans have more or less the same price as is the case today? That's when a passenger will make a decision based on other factors like food, seat quality, crew friendliness...

Not based on that but it is one of the factors which contributes to the brand of an airline. If uniforms weren't that important than airlines wouldn't be trying to be unique.

If the price with both airlines is the same I dont see a reason to choose a foreign airline with pretty much the same product above my own national airline.

Air France is signifantly increasing their Croatia operations.Besides the second daily to ZAG both DBV and SPU will be increased to daily after only one Season of operations. Good to see legacies increasing bein present at more than one Airport in the country.
