NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia will temporarily suspended all flights from Belgrade to Zurich, Rome and Milan as of March 10 until March 15 due to the effects of the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. This morning, the Serbian government introduced a ban on all arrivals from Italy, some provinces of China, South Korea, Iran, and parts of Switzerland, after it was concluded that a person from Switzerland infected two Serbian nationals with the virus. Air Serbia has also cancelled a select number of flights across its network over the coming period due to a fall in demand. A full list of cancellations can be found here.

A formal ban will serve as a reason to pay compensation by the state to the airline. For this reason many states abstain from making formal prohibitions to fly, seeing that flights are cancelled just because of there being no demand. This is the way to nationalise the losses.

Mr.Nikola, can you guess which are the next countries to be suspended? - I would bet Germany, France and Spain.
