NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia will operate a repatriation service to the United States tomorrow for stranded US nationals currently in Serbia. The flight between Belgrade and Washington’s Dulles Airport will be operated by the carrier’s Airbus A330 aircraft. In a statement, the US Embassy in Belgrade said, “Thanks to the generosity of the government of Serbia, this flight will be free of charge to passengers. At this time, this is the only way to travel between Serbia and the United States. We expect this will be the last flight to leave Serbia for the United States until regular commercial flights resume”. Serbian nationals will be flown on the return service from Dulles Airport, according to the Serbian Foreign Ministry. On March 26, Air Serbia operated a nonstop service from Belgrade to Los Angeles to assist US nationals in Serbia wishing to return home.

Others are also getting paid to do rescue od medical supplies flights. Is Wizz getting a new form of subsidy for those seven planes from Hungary to China?

Exactly and no one knows how much Wizz is getting. Two days ago there were four A321neo on their way to China.

It all started with sanity challenged comment at 10:33. It may be perceived as a lack of empathy to wish coronavirus upon that author, but it's really the opposite: that would be the empathy for thousands of bona fide readers of this blog enduring his uncontrollable hate comments for years.

It is free for the passengers. The US pays for those flights as a charter. Mostly the government pays the flight costs and requests the money back from its citizens. No one said Serbia is paying for it.

To those that understand fine prints of English language this statement (Thanks to the generosity of the government of Serbia, this flight will be free of charge to passengers) means that the US is not paying squat all.

USA was asking passengers to sign a special form where they would charge them after they arrive to United States ( they are charging all stranded passengers in other countries ) however they are luck as Serbia is helping Americans one more time to go home for free plus they are getting full refund on their original flight that was cxld. Americans do not give anything for free, thanks again to Serbia for providing a second free flight to United States.

Actually the LAX flight was not just for the Americans, on the way back it brought back six million medical masks. They were stored there.

Today on TV they said 800 people applied to return to Belgrade from DC.

800, that's a bit over the limit for the 330.

Well 800 applied, of course not everyone will be carried at once. They might organize a few more flights.

Probably, but that's Washington. Can't wait for Chicago, with the number of Serb's there we might need to as HighFly for help 😅

Alitalia has flights from JFK to FCO (Roma Fiumicino), one way: current price is 1693,79 euro for some days and 658,13 euro for other days. I think they are regular scheduled flights.

Canada is planning a flight from Belgrade and is milking each passenger about 1800 Euros for a one way trip to Toronto. The big problem is that there is a plane change "somewhere in Western Europe" - no further details provided yet on where - but about 2 weeks ago it was from Spain. Passengers will then have to figure out how to get to whatever city they are originally from Toronto.
