NEWS FLASH

Two Croatia Airlines pilots who operated on the Zagreb - Frankfurt - Zagreb flight on May 2 have tested positive for the coronavirus Covid-19. It was reported earlier that twelve other passengers on board were also positive. In a statement, Croatia Airlines said, “Croatia Airlines can confirm that two pilots from the Frankfurt - Zagreb flight on May 2 tested positive for the coronavirus, while all other cabin crew members, who were in direct contact with passengers, were negative. The presence of the coronavirus among the crew members cannot be associated with the passengers who arrived on the same flight and who were found to be positive for Covid-19 through subsequent diagnostic testing. The pilots are seated in the cockpit which is separated from the passenger cabin of the aircraft”. It added, “All passengers who tested positive from the said flight were workers returning from Sweden, while two passengers were a married couple who had arrived from Spain. According to the data available so far, none of the other passengers or cabin crew members are infected, so it is impossible to find a link between the pilots and passengers, and it is unnecessary to claim that the allocated seating or the cabin occupancy resulted in the spread”.

Croatia Airlines has been operating a daily Zagreb - Frankfurt rotation throughout the duration of the coronavirus pandemic, providing stranded Croatian nationals across the world with the opportunity to return home. Services will be increased to two daily as of next Monday. The Croatian carrier said that between April 1 and May 10, the Frankfurt service enabled over 3.500 Croatian citizens to return home, despite the route producing a 244.000 euro loss for the airline during that period.

I think N1 reported that there was a total of 14 passengers on that flight. Was it operated by A319 or Q400?

Ouch... and now they want to add a second daily to FRA only so that LH can have better connectivity at the expense of Croatian taxpayers.

14 positive out of 115 pax. Booking is actually over 100 most of the time, 160ish even on some days.

lol..ghost passengers..at least in the commercial air transportation something like that is not possible..but it sounds like great clickbait headline, so why not to use it by the 'journalist'

Whether it's a clickbait headline is irrelevant - Jutarnji is not the only media that reported it. The government is unable to explain how 41 people were admitted to the country w/o any screening and how the passenger manifest and the number of people they reported were on the flight do not match.
