NEWS FLASH

Charter flights between Ljubljana and Dubrovnik have been temporarily suspended due to low demand. According to the “Sierra 5” portal, travellers who had booked packages to Dubrovnik with air fares will be bussed to Zagreb from where they will be flown to their destination. A total of three flights were run between Ljubljana and Dubrovnik this summer with Croatia Airlines’ Q400 turboprop aircraft. According to the portal, once there is sufficient demand, services will resume with Trade Air’s Airbus A320 jet, each Thursday until September 24.

Don't know who has it worse this year, Croatian tourism or LJU. These charters were supposed to boost LJU numbers.

As far as I know the charters to Greece are pretty packed? So I guess the main issue is not on LJU side? :)

No surprise. I thought Slovenia introduced mandatory quarantine measures for their citizens travelling to their beloved neighbor country. Therefore most will have cancelled the flight tickets.

Of course not, as usual marketing costs money. Fraport doesn't do smart marketing if it costs money, because they put money in funny and weird marketing like that mime thing that won't bear results because 1) it's weird, 2) airports and airlines treated pax badly and now many don't trust flying being safe (nice reading: https://www.forbes.com/sites/danielreed/2020/07/30/if-covid-19-really-isnt-a-big-threat-to-the-average-airline-passenger-but-no-airline-bothers-to-tell-the-story-does-it-make-any-noise/)
