NEWS FLASH

Egypt Air will begin codesharing on Air Cairo’s flights between Hurghada and Belgrade starting this winter season, from late October. The move is considered the first step in cooperation between the two airlines, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding previously inked on May 7. Air Cairo will also place its designator code and flight numbers onto Egypt Air’s services from Hurghada to Alexandria, Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh, enabling passengers from Belgrade to book flights to these destinations on a single ticket. “This step comes as part of Egypt Air’s plan to achieve integration between the flight schedules of both airlines and offering more flying options for Air Cairo customers to the top leisure destinations in Egypt and to other destinations in Egypt Air’s global network, while Egypt Air customers will have the chance to fly to a number of destinations in Eastern Europe and the Middle East through domestic airports in Egypt”, Egypt Air CEO, Amr Abu Elenin, said.

Egypt Air already codeshares on Aegean Airlines’ service between Athens and Belgrade. The Greek carrier plans to resume operations to the Serbian capital on October 26, after temporarily suspending flights in mid-July due to entry restrictions.
