NEWS FLASH

Wizz Air has registered its own company in Bosnia and Herzegovina, records show. Wizz Air Bosnia, with its headquarters at Tuzla Airport, was registered on February 17, 2020. At the time, Tuzla Airport was in the process of negotiating a new agreement with the low cost carrier, which it hoped would result in the introduction of new routes and the possible stationing of a third aircraft in the city. Tuzla Airport’s contract with Wizz Air was to expire this June and a new four-year deal was to be inked. However, the slow development of Tuzla Airport’s infrastructure, including the extension of its runway approach lights, continued to be a sticking point between the two sides. Since then, the coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc across the aviation industry and global economies, with Wizz Air suspending eight routes from Tuzla this coming winter and laying off local staff. In addition to Wizz Air Bosnia, Wizz Air Group companies include - Wizz Air Hungary, Wizz Air UK, Wizz Air Holding, WA Pilot Academy and Wizz Aviation Professionals.

Of course, we know. They still can't make peace with it and that's what's sad. Like how on yesterday's topic they had to mention JU.

Does that mean they'll be getting their AOC?

Why would they register if not for AOC? Name one reason.

If bilaterals allow it, AOC could give Wizzair rights to fly from any airport in Bosnia to other countries such as Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Middle East, North Africa/Mediterranean countries etc. Except Sarajevo all other existing (and some planned) airports in Bosnia have catchement areas beyond borders and could attract additional passengers.
