Slovenia to decide on airline subsidies next week

NEWS FLASH

An expert commission formed by the Slovenian Ministry for Economic Development and Technology is set to decide next Monday, November 23, which airlines will be the beneficiaries of 1.5 million euros in subsidies for maintaining flights to the country between March 30, 2020 and September 30, 2020. Nine airlines have applied, including Lufthansa, Air Serbia, Montenegro Airlines, Air France, Turkish Airlines, Swiss, easyJet, Wizz Air and LOT Polish Airlines. In order to be eligible for the financial grant, the carriers in question must have operated at least two weekly flights for a period of at least two months within the set timeframe. The commission formed by the Ministry will decide the amount of money each of the applicants will receive based on the criteria below. Only carriers that score over 35 points will be granted aid.

  2. What kind of criteria is that? :) Love the last one.... which one does not observe Covid-19 measures or will openly admit it does not.. only a bureaucrat siting at the ministry without stepping onto a plane can come up with such criteria....

this is what you get when a reality-disconnected burocrat is running an operation. Typical for Slovenia I must say...

Wizz and ASL are famous having an extreme affection for sweet subsidies so I am sure LJU will perhaps be giving them more priority. Hopefully, they consider YM too.
