Slovenia extends Maribor Airport management contract

NEWS FLASH

The Slovenian government has announced plans to extend the management contract for Maribor Airport with the state-owned Investment Management Company (DRI), which specialises in consulting and engineering, until the end of 2021. DRI took over in July of last year, when the Chinese concessionaire pulled out of its fifteen-year agreement with the state. The Slovenian Ministry for Infrastructure recently announced plans to turn Maribor Airport into a cargo hub. Two countries have shown interest in investing in Maribor Airport’s redevelopment as part of the plan.
