NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia is increasing frequencies on its flights between Belgrade and Moscow from July 5 as a result of strong demand despite the coronavirus pandemic. The Serbian carrier will maintain eight weekly rotations between the two cities, completing its other destinations in Russia, including St Petersburg, Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don. “We are glad to further strengthen our presence in Russia, which is a very important market - both for Serbia, and for the region. Despite travel restrictions, we have managed to increase the number of flights to Moscow, recommence flights to Saint Petersburg and Krasnodar, and even introduce a completely new route to Rostov-on-Don. Great demand and passenger load factor on the new route showed us that it was a good business decision. We will continue to monitor demand and adapt to the circumstances on the market quickly”, the airline’s General Manager for Commercial and Strategy, Jiri Marek, said. Air Serbia’s codeshare partner Aeroflot maintains daily flights between the two capitals with its Airbus A330-300 aircraft, but has deployed its largest jet, the Boeing 777-300ER, on several occasions, including twice over the past ten days. In addition, Aeroflot launched new operations between St Petersburg and Belgrade last week, while Nordwind Airlines also maintains services from Russia's two largest cities to the Serbian capital.

More like because there were no direct flights to MNE from Russia so JU used the opportunity.

I think they are very lucky that Russia restricts flights. I am curious to see what they do in VIE, AMS, CDG and FRA now that competition is heating up. Even Oslo since DY is returning this week.

Fabulous fares starting at €190 one way. There isn't enough supply for this level of demand. Hopefully Red Wings makes a return so that fares can become more acceptable.

Just eight flights a week, impossible.
Alone on sunday JU had three flights to Moscow, one of them with the A332.
And on top of that Aeroflot came with the 777.

Because those other 2 flights on Sunday were charters to Moscow.

In April there were 4.784 Russian tourists in Serbia. Will be interesting to see the numbers for May which should come out today or tomorrow.
