NEWS FLASH

Air France will increase its frequencies between Paris and Belgrade later this month after recently restoring the service. The carrier will continue to maintain three weekly flights between the two capital cities until July 18, increasing to five weekly rotations from July 19, each Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. and Sunday. Air France resumed operations to Belgrade on June 23. All flights will be maintained by the Airbus A319 aircraft. It comes as the French carrier continues to grow and restore its network, recently announcing the launch of brand new routes to Muscat, Colombo and Zanzibar.

Actually they already upgraded some flights to A320. I have a feeling AF-KL will start challenging LH Group in Belgrade.

I am afraid that we will have here the same scenario like with Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Zürich, Vienna... While JU is flying Antalya, Hurghada and Tivat others overtaking western routs.

That's something JU needs to worry about. They are handing over these markets to their competition because they are shortsighted.

I know our FRA rarely has over 75 passengers.

Yes, but look what happend with Amsterdam, also with Vienna, JU had doubly daily and now just 4 weekly, while OS is adding extra flights, and I will not mention LH to Frankfurt with A321. After the charter season is over, we will see where JU will fly. Not to mention the current prices, chaos.

JU is increasing Vienna to daily but that's too little compared to OS and their 16 weekly on the E95.
Another market to follow is Zurich where Swiss is upping its game and wants a larger piece of this massive and highly lucrative market.

JU is not the most competitive airline out there. AMS and FRA are great examples. I guess their commercial department isn't doing their best.

LH OS LX AF KL have quite a few aircraft sitting around unused which they can deploy fairly quickly. JU turned their focus to charter flights because that’s where the demand was while there was a block on travel to EU for Serbian citizens. They did the logical thing at the time.

It's not entirely competition to JU, they codeshare together and this allows JU to increase its reach over France and beyond, mainly to US.
Great addition to BEG, a 3x daily to CDG between JU and AF is meeting the needs for business travel (early morning and evening flights) and leisure, as well as connections to AF international network.
Last year they operated Nice, I don't know if AF placed its code on that flight and if they plan to restart next year they should really look into it.
Same goes on for Lyon, JU could look at that potential maybe 2x weekly (yes I know Wizz tried and stopped), connections beyond to Montenegro and other places beyond BG, as well as AF's code could be sufficient to make this work!

I don't think JU will launch LYS as they can serve it via GVA. easyJet is making their life difficult this July as they boosted it to 4 weekly! Seems like an overkill but I guess they want to smack JU down. Hopefully Air Serbia finds a way to get enough passengers. I don't think they are going to dilute their revenue by launching another destination in the same catchment area.

Talking of Switzerland, Swiss is going crazy. From Monday they are increasing BEG to 21 and later in the week there are quite a few A321s scheduled. Really crazy the amount of traffic they have.

I guess the admin missed the friday, otherwise it would only be four times a week not five?

      ^ It seems so.
Dont know why AFs four or five weekly flights could be a threat to Air Serbia which flies to Paris double daily.
Also Easyjet flew to Geneva before AS did so if anyone is a threat then it is the latter.
