NEWS FLASH

Air Montenegro will temporarily cease operations on its Podgorica - Frankfurt service, with the last flight scheduled for next Monday, September 13. The Montenegrin national carrier plans to restore services between the two cities from December 1. There are currently no other operators on the route. Montenegro was recently placed on Germany’s list of high-risk countries, requiring mandatory ten-day quarantine upon arrival. Air Montenegro launched services to Frankfurt in mid-July and maintained two weekly flights. Its predecessor, Montenegro Airlines, served the German city twice per week as well, with a three weekly rotation from mid-December until mid-January.

I think vaccinated passengers can still travel between the two countries as long as they have the right vaccine, that is the one politically acceptable for Berlin.

Yes but the issue is, in Montenegro 90% have been vaccinated with a vaccine not accepted by Germany.

Yes but aren't most passengers from our region to Germany actually gastos who were vaccinated over there?

It seems that Air Montenegro will be flying only in December to FRA.

After that month they are not selling tickets anymore.

No, they haven't put tickets on sale for any route after December.

Only goes to show how they didn't think this through. It's unfortunate that people in MNE can't understand that the market is too small and too seasonal to work out.

You gotta be kidding right, Anon 14.51?! Just because the EU put them on the red list doesn't mean they are automatically banned. Final decision is on each member state. Germany allows vaccinated travelers to enter the country for non essential reasons.

Montenegro Airlines will probably be brought back to life eventually. Something fishy going on that they didn't paint the livery on Air Montenegro's embraer.

It was reported here that they will paint the livery during the winter.
