NEWS FLASH

Embraer became the latest plane manufacturer to promote its aircraft in Zagreb as Croatia Airlines looks to renew its Airbus fleet. The Brazilian jet maker demonstrated its E2 “Profit Hunter” aircraft in the Croatian capital yesterday, where it pitched its product and operated a demonstration flight. The E195-E2 belonging to Helvetic Airways was displayed in Zagreb. Among those present were representatives from Croatia Airlines, other carriers from the country, as well as Air Montenegro. Over 200 orders have been made for the E2 jets, with Switzerland’s Helvetic currently being the biggest operator. Other European airlines utilising the jets include KLM, Belavia, Widroe and Binter Canarias.

Honestly, both the A220 and E2 are amazing aircraft. It will all depend what OU really needs. Will it focus on regional routes or consider medium-haul similar to Air Baltic. However, the E2 might be the cheaper option.

Both are good options, anything but Sukhoi.

I think Sukhoi has improved quite a lot since the Moscow crash in 2019. Even Air Serbia is considering it soon

It isn't considering it at all.

Only Russia operate the airplane as its performance is very poor and the cost of maintenance is extortionate... Every airline will take the place will end up in the bankrupt list... Deja vu /Armavia, kartika Airlines, interjet, sky aviation, transaero, Kubań, moskovia... City jet from Ireland took 7 aircraft they are all stored as its a non operational aircraft...

I see people are still falling for the PR campaign. There's a much higher likelihood of OU not being around next summer than them getting brand new aircraft.

How are they going to pay for these new planes is pure magic.
But I guess the state of Croatia can muscle such an investment.

A220 is really good aircraft, but e2 family will give OU flexible option of upgauge from q400 70pax to e175e2 90pax while getting more efficiency and lowering costs. E195e2 is also good fit for year around operations since a319 is not competitive enough!

There is more chance of OU going bankrupt then buying/leading new jets of any kind. They will propably opt for second hand 8-10 year old Airbus 319 jets.

You need to remember that the deal with Aegean might go through so the future might not necessarely be as bad

The chances of the Aegean deal going through are about the same as OU getting new aircraft.
