NEWS FLASH

Iranian carrier Mahan Air has resumed operations between Tehran and Belgrade. Flights commenced last month and are being maintained once every two weeks, on Sundays, with the 202-seat Airbus A310 aircraft. Mahan Air last operated flights to Belgrade in October 2019. The airline was to resume a two weekly seasonal summer service to the Serbian capital in late April of 2020, however, those plans were shelved amid the coronavirus pandemic.

How do you buy tickets for that route?

Usually a representative of an Iranian company comes to Belgrade and simply sits here. That was at least the case while Iran Air maintained flights. One could get his number through the Embassy's Chancery. As per rule of a thumb, tickets are always payable in cash, preferably in USD. Iranians consider Mahan Air to be the best airline in the country, mostly due to its ownership and management structure.

This is WAYYY to small a number of flights to be of any significance. Looks like it's just P2P tourism flights of 202 people.

Iranian airlines fly where they can. And not only that but in most of Europe they can't even refuel so that narrows down the choice's.
The plane can reach destination but would need to refuel to return, it's a no-go

Sputnik might be carried but this is a regular passenger flight as well. Last Sunday it was parked at A1 gate and not at the remote stands with the rest of the cargo planes.

Wow...these A310s must be like over 30 years old. Is Iran allowed to buy Airbus planes at all?

"JAT Yugoslav Airlines previously operated services between Belgrade and Tehran, launching flights on April 19, 1991. The airline also opened its representative office in the Iranian city. The route was popular with a considerable number of transfer passengers to the United States at the time. However, the service was short-lived with the collapse of Yugoslavia halting all international operations."
