Low cost carrier easyJet will be introducing its fourth service to Pristina this coming summer with the airline to inaugurate flights from London Gatwick. Operations will commence on May 1 and run four times per week, each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The new route will complement the airline’s existing services from Basel, Berlin and Geneva. easyJet was Pristina Airport’s busiest airline in 2021 handling 282.357 passengers, notably improving its position on the year before when it was the airport’s fourth busiest carrier. It also outperformed its pre-pandemic traffic levels by 5%. Further flight details for the new Gatwick - Pristina service can be found here.

ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for this route to be announced for a little while, so I am glad it's finally here although with just only a month and a half prior to the launch it's unusual for easyJet.
ReplyDeleteNonetheless, there are 3 different airlines serving PRN from London now:
- Wizz Air UK: LTN daily;
- easyJet: LGW 4 weekly;
- British Airways: LHR 2 weekly (potential to increase further as they did last summer).

GP Aviation flies full charters for various travel agencies from/to Pristina. It is an airline from Switzerland, in this case flying for the agency prishtinaticket from and to Vaxjö

DeleteGP Aviation operate on behalf of independent travel agents to PRN that have grown significantly over the last two years. They were the 4th busiest airline operating at PRN last year after easyJet, Eurowings, and Wizz Air:

However, to the best of my knowledge they operate charter flights to Vaxjo, therefore their timetables are subject to frequent change. And their aircraft is an old Japanese-operated B737, but other than that, your friend should be alright with the flight and service.

DeleteNo, the airline is from Bulgaria. But they have a 'services' company registered in Switzerland, which probably employs the crew and such. They have Albanian-speaking crew, mostly former Adria Airways crew.
DeleteIf the airline was Swiss I don't think they'd be able to operate intra-ECAA flights, such as PRN-VXO.
I wish one day someone would post a trip report with such an operator. Now, that would be exotic.

ReplyDeleteLast summer it was 22 (AnadoluJet is considered part of Turkish Airlines). This year Air Cairo is a new operator. Changes are still happening, so in or around 20 different airlines.

ReplyDeleteeasyJet announced CDG as soon as the European Council approved visa liberalisation for Kosovan citizens. But that didn't happen and the route was cancelled after a year. I expect it to return in the future.

ReplyDeletethats not true - they are planning 6 flights per week, and im sure they will increase if needed. also BA is planning 6 flights per week and wizz 3 flights per week so 15 weekly flights between Ljubljana and London for now. and if you ask me it will be soon 21 flights per week.
DeleteNot true that they terminated almost everything? They ended 10 weekly STN (was supposed to be replaced by daily LTN which also got canceled) and 3 weekly BER. They planned a total 4 routes and 22 weekly flights. Now its only 6 and even that will be reduced to 5 in July and August. Also BA is 5 weekly, not 6.
DeleteMy favourite ex-Yu stellar airports are SJJ, PRN and ZAD. Those airports have grown like crazy during the last years given their size. LGW is a perfect addition to such a very important airport in Europe. Congratulations Pristine!
ReplyDeleteIn the near future easyJet will open CDG and AMS. I don't know if they will the 'next' routes, but those two should be on the pipeline and will work assuming Kosovars no longer require Schengen visas.
