Air Serbia boosts operations for Final Four tournament

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia is boosting frequencies and capacity on select routes ahead of the EuroLeague Final Four Basketball Tournament taking place in Belgrade between May 19 and May 21, which sees four teams - Real Madrid, Barcelona, Olympiacos from Greece and Anadolu Efes from Turkey - take part. The Serbian carrier will deploy its Airbus A330-200 wide body aircraft to Barcelona on Tuesday, May 19, instead of the usual A319 jet. This will complement the Sunday flights which are already being maintained with the A330. Capacity will also be increased to Madrid on May 19 with the A320 to operate the service to and from the Spanish capital. Air Serbia will add an additional two flights to Athens during the tournament week. Additional services to the Greek capital will run on May 19 and May 23 just after midnight, with the A320. Furthermore, the airline will deploy its A330 jet to Istanbul on May 18, as well as the A320 on May 20 and 21, instead of the usual A319. Further changes are likely in the coming days, with foreign carriers also expected to modify their frequencies and capacity to Belgrade for the tournament. The sporting event is sponsored by Turkish Airlines.

Now this should be fun. Let's see if others respond though seems like JU dumped quite a bit of capacity on the market.
