Air Serbia is set to take delivery of two ATR72-600 turboprops as part of the renewal of its regional fleet. As previously reported, one of the two aircraft has recently been painted in the carrier’s livery in Montpellier and is set to be delivered to the airline in the first half of May. The plane is four years old and has received the registration YU-ALW. The other ATR72-600 will be registered YU-ALX and is to be delivered in June. It is also four years old. Both aircraft feature the new Geven “Prestige” seats which can be found in the airline’s first ATR72-600 (YU-ALY) that arrived in late January and is in commercial use. “We are glad to continue renewing our regional fleet, and that we will enter the peak of the summer season with another two planes, because an exciting period awaits us, with the expansion of our network of destinations and a large number of flights. The ATR72-600 type aircraft, YU-ALY, which is currently the youngest member of our fleet, proved to be an excellent choice for our flights in the region. We are convinced that the arrival of two more aircraft will further contribute to our operational efficiency and an even better travel experience for our passengers. Continuous improvement of our services and the user experience are among our biggest priorities, and we will continue to develop in this direction in the future”, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jirí Marek, said. The carrier plans to add a further two ATR72-600s to its fleet this year for a total of five.

DeleteIf we compare the size of the fleet, network diversity, total number of destinations, range of services, number of passengers carried, overall product and even financial performance, what Air Serbia achieved in 10 years compared to Croatia Airlines in 30 years, is amazing, and with all comparative advantages Croatia, both the country and the company have had and still have. Therefore I can just say Congratulations Air Serbia and shame on you Croatia Airlines

DeleteJust comparing the cost-saving measures here. These planes cost much less than the jets that the major airlines use, no entertainment systems either. With the money that the airline saves it would be easier for them to offer a better on-board service with respect to catering and free 1-hour wifi. Many passengers use their own mobile devices when travelling already and serving meal provides jobs at BEG for local workers. This would be a better trade-off that many passengers would appreciate for flying with an ATR vs a jet.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't book a flight with Air Serbia. I made a horrible experience with them. In my case, also the Federal Agency of Civil Aviation (of Switzerland) confirmed me, that Air Serbia regularly breaks the law and simply doesn't reply to complaints when it suits them.. A stupid call center agent even admitted it on the phone (that they break the law).
