NEWS FLASH

Air Montenegro will introduce flights between Podgorica and Istanbul, complementing its service from Tivat to Turkey’s largest city. Operations will commence on June 18 and run twice per week until July 12 with the Airbus A320 aircraft. The carrier will compete directly against Turkish Airlines’ eleven weekly flights between the two cities. Turkish will also inaugurate flights between Istanbul and Tivat next month. Commenting on the new service, Air Montenegro's Acting CEO, Dragana Frantov Nikolić, said “We are delighted that ahead of the company’s first anniversary and out first flight to Istanbul, we will add another route. Now we will connect the capital of Montenegro with one of the largest tourist and business centres in Europe. Due to increased demand, the Podgorica - Istanbul route will be maintained with a larger capacity aircraft, with 180 seats”. Tickets for the new route are already on sale. Further details can be found here.

Does anyone know when will AirMontenegro get and start using their IATA code? They are still using ICAO "MNE" one.
