The World Airport Awards are considered the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry voted by customers in the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. The evaluation took place between September 2021 and May 2022. It is the seventh time in over twenty years of the award’s history that two airports from the former Yugoslavia have entered the top ten of any category, which includes the world’s best airport, most improved airport, airport with the best staff, best security and best transit airport, to name a few. According to Skytrax, the survey and awards process is independent and guaranteed free of any airport influence or interference in final results. It evaluates customer satisfaction across 39 key performance indicators for airport service and product - from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration, through to departure at the gate.

ZAG definitely should be higher on that list. Modern terminal, staff are friendly, decent amount of outlets for their size air side.

OTP is a zoo, small for their size, however staff are friendly and they have decent amount of stores and outlets. But for 3rd place, I don't think so.

BEG can't do much if the Serbian police allow illegal taxis to operate right in front of them. Licensed taxi drivers are like vultures at the airport, prying for foreigners to rip off, and often refuse to accept the vouchers purchased at the airport put in place to eliminate overcharging passengers.

Rule of law is a huge problem in Serbia, while it's global ranking has fallen. It's the worst of the ex-YU republics, on level with countries such as Uzbekistan, Suriname, Algeria and Albania. No surprise that illegal taxis are comfortable working in front of police.

Problem with illegal taxis is a known problem yet little is done.

Being in the top 10 without metro or rail connection to the city is embarrassment. Looking forward to Exyu aviation publishing status of rail link development for ZAG and BEG.

  7. Skytrash and Wikipedia are on the similar level. Everyone can write and/or express opinion and/or evaluate on very subjective basis, with no knowledge, no comparative data and no comparative experience. These results are funny and ridiculous. Both BEG and ZAG are way better than at least Tbilisi and Bucharest, not to mention Kiev in the middle of war

Smaller airports are better. Passengers really do not like ti walk 2 km to catch a transfer flight.

  11. You can't take this ranging seriously. Batumi Airport.6th? It can't be 66th, it's just like if you were adding Nis to the list. For me BEG or ZAG being 10th, 1st or 99th would be the same, simply not relevant.
