NEWS FLASH

Airport operator TAV Macedonia has met with Spanish tour agents in order to promote the country on the Spanish market and encourage the introduction of nonstop flights between the two countries. “As an airport operator we always listen to the requests of our passengers. Many of them are requesting flights from Skopje to Barcelona, as well as other attractive destinations in Spain. Therefore, as part of TAV Macedonia’s marketing strategy and promotional activities, together with the Macedonian tour operator Balkan Prime Tours, we have invited the most prominent tour agencies from Spain, together with an influential travel blogger, to introduce Macedonia and its huge tourism potential as a new destination for Spanish travellers. We already have interest from Macedonians to travel to Spain, so we figured we need to create demand among Spanish travellers, to encourage airlines to establish direct routes between the two countries. At the same time, we are working on attracting airlines to start flights from both Skopje and Ohrid airports to targeted and attractive leisure destinations in Spain”, the General Manager of TAV Macedonia, Metin Batak, said. There are currently no scheduled flights between the two states with Wizz Air having discontinued operations between Skopje and Barcelona last year.

They can from BCN, MAD, AGP, PMI, VLC via BEG to SKP and OHD. It is better for them to cooperate closely with Air Serbia because they can cover a larger market.

Vueling could launch SKP and plus they could be beneficial for passengers since VY allows connecting flights meaning passengers from/to SKP can reach another destination via BCN.

With correct flight times, Vueling can be perfect addition to SKP, which will make BCN a hub for the Macedonians to the Spanish market

Why always Barcelona? Guys I'm Spaniard there much more Spain than only Barcelona. Málaga or Madrid airports are very interesting hub destinations, the first serving as a link with whole Latinoamérica
