NEWS FLASH

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport’s expansion project is continuing to advance with the most extensive work currently taking place in front of the terminal buildings. Construction of the new central processor, which stretches over 15.000 square metres is nearing completion. It will be used both by departing and arriving passengers. The facility is expected to be in operation during the 2023 summer season. It will enable the airport to boast 100 check-in desks, up to 1.200 square metres of additional retail space, automated baggage handling system and an expanded arrivals area. The project includes the construction of a viaduct for pedestrians and cars, as well as the expansion of the smaller short-term car park which will be located in front of the terminal. Work continues on the construction of a new floor and overhaul of the final part of the A gates wing. Furthermore, construction of the airport's inserted runway is entering its final phase. It should be operational in the spring.

Lots of greenery in the renders and promo materials, but just endless car parks in reality - this is quite disappointing.

There are carparks amongst the greenery. You have to look at the render more carefully.

They have actually followed the render down to the detail. The project is ongoing. Greenery will be planted at the end.

Please respect other opinions. Walking from C1 to C14 takes too long. Carpets do look old. Lot's of utilities in the toilets are not working. Once completed, we will have a mutant of 3 different building styles (T1, T2, the new part). To me, this does not look nice.

Who is disrespecting other opinions? Someone showed you a rendering showing that you are wrong when you say there are no carparks in the render and that is somehow disrespecting your false claim?

Entire T1 and T2 will be reconstructed. Carpets look old? ok they are blue. Maybe they look old to you. I do not know what constitutes a modern carpet. If you go on how you saw a stain, they actually bought new machines (and use them) for getting stains out of carpets. The stains are there because passengers are pigs.

Anon 16:33 I respect other opinions but no respect for lies and hypocrisy. Walk to C14 does take long for some but plan ahead, BEG is no longer small airport. When I need to transfer at LHR or CDG I also plan plenty of time to get to the gate. Carpets do not look old at all. That's a lie. Toilets are reasonable, not worse than other large airports. Same style and signage will be everywhere, but T1 will retain original.architecture. When you get to JFK you don't have any issues with "mutant" of many terminal building styles? Hypocrisy.

Right, carpets do not look old. They look dirty and they stink. And are outdated and totally inappropriate for an open airport gates.

For those complaining about all sorts of things, from floor tiles to greenery, etc. Believe it or not, instead of endlessly complaining into open air, you can provide feedback for them or offer suggestions about anything airport related by sending a simple email or posting it on social media.
Companies these days really do follow these things. Some things we notice the people in charge don't get to see. Those who work at the airport and see them are not paid enough to care.

They do answer, listen and react if you can present it as something that's good for business, image or functionality.

I had quite a few correspondencias with multinacionalne corporations (who ever answers mails) and good response from most of them.

True. Around two months ago a person wrote on Twitter that BEG should put information boards about taxi vouchers before leaving the baggage pick up area (so to avoid unlicensed taxis). They responded saying they will take it into consideration. Information boards about taxis are now located as early as passport control.

In almost 4 years that concessionaire operates the airport this is the first year that impressed me with the quantity of work done. New roadways and passenger extension building might be operational by next summer but renovation of Terminal 2 is nearly impossible to be completed and functional by then.

Even the buses are relatively empty for now, there is no reason for having a rail link at this stage. If BG voz, as planned, goes to Surcin, Nikola Tesla can be a good stop. why not However airport is relatively close to the center its about 20 minutes with A1, and about 45 with 72 (that also stops at major public transportation connections to other bus lines, tram lines, BG voz as well regio trains to Backa and Srem.
