Adria Tehnika to build wide-body hangar

NEWS FLASH

Maintenance, repair, and overhaul company Adria Tehnika plans to build its fifth hangar and the first which will be dedicated to servicing wide-body aircraft. Speaking at the Air Gateway to Europe conference in Ljubljana yesterday, the Chief Commercial Officer of Adria Tehnika, Mirjana Tratnjek Ceh, said, “We are counting on servicing Airbus A330s but due to the size of the hangar, it will be able to accommodate aircraft up to the A350. Depending on the business case, we could also maintain several narrow-bodies instead of one wide-body”. The new hangar, which will be operational by 2026, will cover an area of 6.400 square metres. Adria Tehnika is part of the Czech-run Avia Prime group which also includes maintenance providers Linetech in Poland and Jat Tehnika in Belgrade.

Ljubljana is becoming cargo and maintaince hub. No wonder fraport doesn't care about an extra weekly flight or two

Fraport only cares if their owner adds flights.

How come Fraport's 16 other airports in Greece and Bulgaria care for all airlines adding flights to them/

Is it possible for them to extend the aiport to the other side? The current apron is getting busy with parked planes waiting for both Solinair and Adria Tehnika

The new hangar will replace the current temporary hangar, which is built in the middle of the maintenance apron. This will give enough space for all additional planes and further expansion possibilities in the direction of the runway.

New hangar will not replace the current temporary hangar because it will block the view from atc tower. Plan is that new hangar will be placed next to the existing hangar of Adria Tehnika

Avia already have wide body hangars, in BEG and RZE. But yeah, Adria gets clean jobs, while in BEG they convert trash, probably for peanuts.
