Croatia and Albania discuss potential flights

NEWS FLASH

The Presidents of Croatia and Albania have discussed the introduction of flights between the two countries. During a meeting between the two leaders, the Albanian president, Bajram Begaj, said the two sides would work on establishing a nonstop air service between Tirana and Zagreb. “Despite excellent political relations and improving economic ties, there is still much to be done in terms of business cooperation. In order to improve connectivity between the two countries, which would directly impact on tourism, we agreed that the time has come to establish flights between the two countries”, Mr Begaj said. In Zagreb Airport’s new Connecting Capital Cities incentive scheme, which will come into effect on June 1, Tirana has been listed as one of the destinations that will be incentivised. Croatia Airlines used to connect Zagreb with Tirana in the early 2000s. Twenty years later, just prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Croatia Airlines’ management held talks with relevant stakeholders over the introduction of flights to the Albanian capital.

    1. Hahahaha Hahahahahahahaha. For what? For not having flights last two decades to the european fastest growing market? For not feeding its own network from the Balkans, with one or two exceptions? Bravo for what? Oh, wait, I just forgot I am not patriotic enough and I hate everything croatian. Actually even better, I am from Cacak and I need to take my medicine prior posting. So Bravo Hrvatska, Bravo for the society producing people who write such things in response to criticism of crime, corruption and incompetence. Bravo for that one, I must agree

Pozdrav is right, we should have had flights to Tirana a long time ago. OU has the perfect aircraft for this route, I think it would work.
But now it's late, since there are so many new destinations from Tirana, it's pointless to try transfers...

I think that if Croatia Airlines operates the Tirana-Zagreb line, I will fail within a year, but if this line is operated by Ryanair or Wizzair, it would be successful.
