NEWS FLASH

Turkish low cost carrier Pegasus Airlines plans to introduce flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Podgorica. The development comes following high-level talks between the Montenegrin and Turkish governments, as well as representatives from both Pegasus Airlines and Turkish Airlines, which will enable a third carrier to introduce scheduled services between the two nations alongside Air Montenegro and the Turkish flag carrier. Both of the country's flag carriers maintain flights between Istanbul’s main airport and Podgorica and Tivat. Turkey was Montenegro’s second largest aviation market behind Serbia last year, with Istanbul being the second busiest route from the country after Belgrade. A record 235.948 passengers flew between Podgorica, Tivat and Istanbul in 2022.
