Air Serbia to increase Lyon operations

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia plans to boost frequencies on services between Belgrade and Lyon, which were inaugurated last year. The Serbian carrier plans to increase operations on the route from the existing two weekly rotations to three weekly flights from the start of the 2023/24 winter season, which begins on October 29. As a result, the airline will maintain flights on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays to the French city with the Airbus A319 aircraft.

And here everyone was saying how Lyon is one of the worst performing routes. Good job JU!

What was the problem with Nice? Low LF, too expensive, inconvenient schedule?

    6. Anonymous17:07

I think it was just bad timing with Nice, they will eventually restore the route once again.

Wizz happened in Nice, they just had better loads on the route so JU withdrew and focused their attention elsewhere.

Pitam se kako im se isplati da povecavaju Nirnberg, ali zato im Stutgart navodno ne ide tako dobro? Zimi Eurowings ne leti za STR.

Zar ne ide SZG sa 2 na 3 nedeljno?

Yes, SZG is planned 3pw this winter. Last winter it was 2pw, but only for a limited time around New Year.

My guess is that in the end this route will be moved to the E90 since the ATR has operational limitations in winter time.

NUE is also increased to 3pw.

Does anyone know why since a couple of weeks Google flights does not recognize and show AirSerbias flights or prices anymore? There seems to be a problem

I have just checked and got AirSerbia as the first option as it was the only direct flight on the route I searched. Otherwise it offers a lot of connections wia LH group, but also other big airlines.
I don't know if this can be improved, but I am sure Google can for some money... So, the survival of the richest.

There's some exYU diaspora in the region, there's business/capital, relatively wealthy and curious population/market, tourism potential with the Pyrenees, large catchment area (BDX-MPL-BCN), currently not quite a lot of eastwards options etc.

A319 is too much capacity for winter but the Embraerjet is the perfect aircraft for increasing frequency in the low season.

Thank you so much AS for introducing MRS and LYS. LYS was such a refreshing point last winter and with this increase even more. MRS is serving diverse community from south and it is very pleasing to see this schedule on Saturdays. Hope LYS keeps this Saturday departure as it would serve much better than Friday.

God forbid they introduce 3rd daily to CDG. No Air France, no Wizz, no Easyjet…and the flights are full (and pricey).
