NEWS FLASH
Romanian carrier Air Connect has discontinued flights between Bucharest and Dubrovnik launched last month. The service was initially scheduled to operate once per week, each Sunday, with the ATR72-600 aircraft until the end of the summer season in late October. However, the flights were in operation for just two weeks and have since been discontinued. Ticket sales for the route have also been suspended. There are currently no scheduled flights between Dubrovnik and the Romanian capital.
I see both of their atrs flying for aeroitalia- one even in some kind of hybrid livery.
ReplyDeleteSeems like similar to dan air they'll become acmi provider
Aeroitalia are in discussions to take control of Air Connect.
DeleteOh wow! Wouldn't be easier for them to just lease two atrs?
DeleteAir Connect is still operating its own flights in addition to Aeroitalia. You can purchase tickets from Bucharest on their website. They dropped DBV because of poor sales and the company is generally in shambles. They just announced they are moving all their flights to Bucharest's other airpprt.

DeleteApparently they want to operate under one brand. What I do know is that everything about the acquisition will be completed at the end of July. Apparently it is moving to Baneasa because Aeroitalia operates from there.
They should start flights to Ljubljana
ReplyDeleteMaybe Tarom decides to bid
DeleteHopefully Tarom but defenitley not Airconnect
DeleteYes, Ljubljana would be amazing choice for them because we all know here that Ljubljana is attracting million of visitiors, much more in summer compared to Dubrovnik. I cant believe so many airlines worldwide are missing the opportunity to fly to Ljubljana and make millions.
DeleteWhat a stupid comment… Bucharest is one of the busiest unserved routes from Ljubljana. And noone is rushing to Dubrovnik year round… only 3 months ;)
DeleteA joke of an airline similar to Dan Air and Blue Air,...
ReplyDeleteMany of these airlines in Romania are only ACMI carriers. However, I recognize Hi Sky - a decent substitute for Blue Air. But Dan and Air Connect are not serious.
DeleteThere are others that are trying or have plans in Romania - Fly Lili, Aero Direkt, Hello Jets, Fly One and many other.
DeleteThe New Eastern Europe - land of the ACMIs and Guantanamos...
DeleteLet's be honest. this route never made sense. It was overly ambitious from day 1.
