NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has begun modifying its operations for the upcoming 2023/24 winter season, with the airline more than doubling its number of flights between Belgrade and Rome. The carrier will maintain thirteen weekly flights between the two cities, up from five weekly last winter. There will be three daily flights on Fridays. It is also up on this summer, during which operations on the route peaked at twelve weekly in May. Air Serbia will compete directly against Wizz Air on the route, which will run a daily service. The 2023/24 winter season begins on October 29.

Chances of ITA coming to BEG just keep droping. If their A220 delays continue they wont be coming back to anywhere in the region, as they can barely even pull off SOF 5pw in the summer

      True dat.

Obviously Air Serbia is working towards stopping them to arrive to BEG.

I agree about BEG, but its not exactly true they arent growing in the region. TIA started off as 5pw in 2021, is now about to go 2x daily, and 3x daily from SS24

Tirana...obviously it will be three times per day since Wizz Air fly to every single city in the country from TIA.

ITA is unlikely to be successful. FCO was used as a stopover and ITA does not have the network nor the frequencies Alitalia had. On top of that I personally am no longer travelling them as they are sort of a fake Skyteam member (you cannot earn miles on their flights nor enjoy the skypriority benefits unless the flight is marketed by a true skyteam member). Maybe this will change for some if they are finally acquired by LH. All in all, ITA is no competition.

A svakako Split zasluzuje direktnu liniju do FRA/MUC.

Pozdrav!

I think we need to be more realistic here. OU needs SPU because that is where the big money is. Now that they are finally profitable they can afford to introduce the A220 into their fleet. With a brand new plane and profitability they can finally grow and later on subsidize their ZAG flights from the money they made on the coast.

I am sorry, how are they "finally profitable"? Where did you get that from? They made a profit in the second quarter (3 month period) after another loss in Q1. They will end the year with a loss and they themselves don't expect to be profitable until 2025. Not to mention that the profit they made in Q2 is miniscule.

OU needs SPU because that is where the big money is, equals JU needs KVO because that is where the big money is. OU finally profitable and can afford to introduce A220, equals pamflet from Sredisnjica Kradezea. About the growth, I fully agree, they will grow Minken and Vrankvurt from every village in Croatia, thereby eliminating any chance to create proper hub, develop proper network, and become flag carrier of Croatia instead of being Lufthansa's isprdak
